Please avoid booking appointments for self-limiting viral illnesses such as coughs, colds, or diarrhoea. Appointments are for the patient who booked them only.

When you need an appointment, you may be offered:

  • Face-to-face consultation: You will see a clinician at the surgery if clinically needed.
  • Telephone consultation: A clinician will call you within a set time window.
  • Online consultation: A clinician can respond to your query via the online system Accurx.

Types of appointments

We offer routine pre-booked, same-day, and emergency appointments. More details are below:

Routine pre-booked appointments

These can be booked up to two weeks in advance:

  • Available early morning and late evening
  • More slots are usually available
  • You can ring at a convenient time
  • Avoid calling repeatedly during peak time (8–9am)

Same-day appointments

These are for appointments on the same day you call:

  • Call between 8–9am when lines are busiest
  • Limited slots are available
  • You may see any available GP

Emergency appointments

These are for:

  • Urgent illnesses needing same-day attention
  • Children under 2 years
  • Palliative care patients

Improved access and extended hours

We provide the best local access to clinicians. We listen to patient feedback and continuously improve our services.

We use a telephone triage system, starting with reception, to direct patients to the right clinician or service efficiently.

You can also see a doctor at another local GP practice outside normal hours through our extended hours scheme. Call the surgery to book an extended hours appointment.

Text message and email reminders

We send appointment confirmations and reminders via text or email. To use this service, register by completing a consent form. Contact us to request a form or pick one up at the surgery.

Please keep your contact details up to date (address, phone number, and email).

Cancelling appointments

If you cannot attend an appointment, inform reception so the slot can be offered to another patient. If you do not notify us, we will send a letter about the missed appointment. Persistent non-attendance may result in removal from the practice list.
